What’s New, What’s Free & What’s a Bargain Wednesday–Last 2018 edition

I hope everyone has enjoyed a marvelous and re-energizing holiday season. It’s definitely been a busy one around my household. And now that we’re winding things up for 2018, I wanted to jump in and mention a few freebie books and bargains I’ve noticed going on right now to help anyone load up a new gift Kindle or spend that bookseller gift card while you have the chance. I Love Spending Holiday Gift Cards–don’t you? So, in my aim to help, here are a few specials my friends and I are offering before New Year’s Day.

First, I gave away a new Bodies of Art Christmas story to my newsletter subscribers earlier in the week. If you’re a subscriber, and you didn’t see a newsletter land in your inbox on Christmas Eve, please check your Spam and/or Trash folders for the mailing. Hope you enjoy it!

Next, if you like my Bodies of Art Mystery series and haven’t yet tried Julie Moffett‘s Lexi Carmichael Mysteries, here’s the perfect opportunity to start it at a bargain price. Book #1, No One Lives Twice is on sale for $1.99 in the Amazon US store. Here’s the link: mybook.to/NOLT

Also HQN put on the first bookset in the series on sale for $7.99. That’s for three full-length books and a novella. Here’s that book link:mybook.to/Lexiboxset1to3

And if you’re a fan of cozy mysteries and haven’t yet read my Organized for Homicide, you can get that book right now for 99¢ (or the equivalent price in countries outside the US). The price will be going up soon, so grab your copy while you can save $4 🙂 Here are the universal links for all the booksellers–

As a side note, the Organized Mysteries will be available again in print soon. The trade paper edition was taken offline recently for a formatting facelift, but the titles will be back and better than ever in early 2019!

Fourth bargain for the day, Carolyn Ridder Asperson’s second paranormal psychic medium mystery book is FREE now. This is a fun book about a psychic medium who loses her gift and is hounded by a spirit she thinks is her mother trying to communicate with her. The main character is also helping her best friend Mel prove her husband is having an affair. But, as always, things aren’t always as they seem. Here’s that link:  http://bit.ly/unbreakablebonds

One of my favorite new series is the Ellie Kent mysteries by Alice K. Boatwright, and her Christmas title, What Child is This? is currently sale priced at 99¢. This is the second book in the series, but it is actually the first one I read–then I went back and bought book one after I enjoyed the second so much. So have no fears about reading the series out of order. Just enjoy the Cotswold location and the likeable characters. The main character, Ellie, is an American from the San Francisco area, who marries an English vicar, so the story lets readers get acclimated to her new home and neighbors at the same time Ellie does. A classic on sale now is Agatha Christie’s Crooked House. Amazon has it available now at $1.99. I’ve read everything Dame Agatha ever wrote, but now that more and more mysteries are getting re-released on Kindle, I’m enjoying the rereading of the titles as much as I liked reading them the first time. Here’s one I’m not sure how I missed–because I always enjoy Charlaine Harris, and thought I’d tried all her series–but I intend to rectify that omission shortly and read this title next weekend. Now only $1.99, Shakespeare’s Landlord is the first book in the Lily Bard Mystery series and takes place in the small town of Shakespeare. I can’t wait to start reading it! Hope you have lots of wonderful reading in your future and new titles and authors to share in the coming year. Be sure to mention any favorites in the comments, as we readers love to hear about new to us authors and their books! Happy Holidays and Joyous New Year to all!

  1. Thank you. I grabbed three including one new author and one I thought I had read but had missed. Now I have to go dig through my mail. I also thought I was keep up with it, mostly. Thank you for the lovely Christmas gift!

  2. I’ve been there, Jeanie. There are a lot of times I find myself double-checking a book’s Amazon page so they can remind me when I already bought a book–or just thought I did. LOL! Happy reading!
