When Kate McKenzie started her small business in Hazelton, Vermont, she planned to help her clients solve their organizing problems and give her the flexible hours she needed as a working mom and wife. She never thought she’d spend as much time crime-solving as she would organizing.
Mystery Most Cozy reviewed Organized for Murder and said, “This is the first book in a new series, Organized Mysteries. The story takes place in the main character, Kate McKenzie’s husband’s, Vermont home town, which the family has recently moved to. It’s a small picturesque New England town where everyone knows everyone else and their business. The trouble begins when Kate’s new business, STACKED IN YOUR FAVOR, is contacted by a wealthy collector to organize her collections in her mansion. The wealthy collector comes along with a cast of suspicious and grasping family members. Murder quickly becomes a part of the equation and Kate, being an outsider, finds herself being questioned as a suspect. I like the main character, Kate, and her sidekick/neighbor Meg, as well as both of their families. I look forward to seeing the characters develop more as the series proceeds. The organizing tips are actually pretty useful…many I already know, but there were some that I have to admit made me think about adding them to organization of my own home. If you enjoy cozy type mysteries, I think you’ll enjoy this light fast read.
