Totally Self-Promoting Tuesday & Happy Book Birthday to Me!

I believe in truth in advertising, hence the blog title, but I hope someone out there is as excited as I am today to say “It’s Here!” Preordered copies of Bronzed Betrayals hit e-readers around midnight last night. I’m assuming print copies have been mailed out too. This is the fifth book in the Bodies of Art Mysteries, and once I get enough coffee inside me we’re going to be doing some partying about this all day on My Facebook Author Page. So if you have a minute, join me over there for fun, trivia, giveaways, and all the kind of stuff that makes days like this one worthwhile 🙂 If you haven’t yet checked out Bronzed Betrayals, here’s what some of the early reviewers have said– “Bronzed Betrayals is a sophisticated and intelligent contemporary suspense novel with a classic feel.  The book is riveting from the first page; the combination of high-intensity action, intricate Read more…

What’s New and Free Wednesday–Giveaway Edition!

My posts have been on the lean side lately, I know, but I’m rounding the editing bend on the next to the last set of proof pages for FATAL FORGERIES. I received my cover last week, too, and will share it soon–probably around the time preorders go live in March (yes, March is almost here–unbelieveable). But in the meantime, I scooped up links for some freebies by my author friends, and have a giveaway of my own today (My giveaway at the end, so be sure to check it out and enter, or please tell all your friends if you already have a copy). Ready? Here goes– First up is one of my all-time favorite cozy series is Michele Scott’s Wine Lovers Mysteries series, which is set in Napa Valley and features Nikki Sands. The covers have been updated, and the first book in the series is free right now on Amazon. Read more…

Time for the Holiday Giveaway Train Again–YAY!

Remember the fun giveaway time we all had this time last year when Henery Press put on the Christmas Giveaway Train? Where a bunch of us authors and book bloggers posted prizes on our FaceBook Author pages and readers could hop from FB page to FB page to try to win the prizes given by each author or blogger? Well, we’re all at it again.  Yes, I’ll be giving away prizes at  My Facebook Author Page.  Read the instructions, sign up to enter the contest (very easy, I promise), then click the link given to go to the next author on the giveaway journey. And do the same for each succeeding stop along the way. So be sure and follow the links and loop around to all your favorite authors and their giveaways. And I promise, it’s easy to enter. Wishing y’all luck for this very special Holiday giveaway. Lots of Read more…

Cannot believe the week is half over already. But am kinda glad it is, because I have a handful of great contests, freebies, etc. to report on. Winners are picked at random by the Amazon prize machine, and the contest runs through March 17th. Click here to try for a Kindle copy of the book Another fun free thing comes via one of my favorite author friends, Jennifer L. Hart. The first books in two of her cozy mysteries series are free at the moment on Amazon: Murder al Dente and Skeletons in the Closet. Grab these bargains while you can! Julie Mulhern is offering a Spring Break Contest on her FB page like the one she did last year for her Guaranteed to Bleed release. Yes, another editon of What’s New–and Free–and Made Me Smile Wednesday…

Ah, yes, we’re back for another edition of things I’ve found for free that I want to share with you mid-week. I’m focusing this time on free things that make me smile–hope they add a smile to the rest of everyone else’s week, too. So, here’s an animal story, an easy craft project, a way to stretch creativity, and a place to find free foreign language tools. Enjoy! First up, this article about a golden retriever and his…well, let’s just say ‘offbeat’ friends. Click this Link to read the article, or you can just gaze happily at the picture– Bob the dog, and his eight bird friends and hamster buddy all live in Brazil, but his Instagram followers total more than 53K, and he has 12,000 friends on Facebook.   I’ve been in the middle of finding frugal tips–not just to stretch my wallet, but to help in developing a new Read more…

For a Way to Get More News

Wanted to mention that I’ve finally taken the leap and started a Facebook Author Page at Ritter Ames Books. It has details right now about an FB event I’m participating in this Thursday, and how to enter for some of the prizes. And I’m planning a big giveaway by the end of the month to celebrate the new page–I’ll give the details once the Thursday Facebook event is no longer on the horizon. This is the page where I’ll post a fun or interesting thing I’ve discovered that relates to mysteries, as well as giveaways I learn that my fellow (and favorite) authors are doing at the moment. I’ll also be able to add first news easier there about my books too, just a brief post when there’s something my readers want to know. But I know Facebook isn’t for everyone, so I’ll still be posting info here–the blog process just Read more…
