National Coloring Book Day 2018
Well, I almost did it again. I almost missed celebrating National Coloring Book Day–which would have meant a post for tomorrow instead with a few mea culpas to type. But this year, I made it! Well, by evening across North America anyway (if you’re already at tomorrow on your calendar, I apologize, as usual). But if you love to color with crayons or pencils or paints or pens…Today’s the Day. And besides my own page full of Free and Downloadable Coloring Pages at http://ritterames.com/coloring-pages-to-download/ where you can always find famous cities, landmarks, and art-themed coloring pages, if you want more here are some other free coloring options I’ve noticed recently:

Armchair Traveling on a Chilly November Afternoon
Had the need today to page through some pictures that tie back with books in my Bodies of Art series, and thought I’d share them with anyone needing a little Armchair Traveling for the day. I’ve thrown in pictures I used for all four books written–but only 3 are available for sale right now. The fourth, Fatal Forgeries, will be released in 2017. Sit back. Enjoy. For a bit of a picture legend to these shots– The first two pictures are London, where all the Bodies of Art Books are at some point each time. Third is the hilly street of Le-Puy-en-Velay from Counterfeit Conspiracies, fourth-through sixth is Florence for Marked Masters, seventh is a picture of Cassie’s flat entrance mentioned in book #1 & visited by Laurel & Jack in book #4, with the eighth the artists restoration pit where Cassie worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum that Laurel used to get Read more…

Could It Really Be a Year Already?
Yes, it is a fabulous anniversary, my friends. One year ago I signed my contract with Henery Press to publish my Bodies of Art Mysteries series. So with two books released and another available in preorder, how am I celebrating? By working all day on lovely book #4, of course–but that’s not all. In a surprising coincidence, I have a blog post today over on Club Hen House telling behind the scenes stories about writing book #3, Abstract Aliases, and there’s even a giveaway to one lucky commenter for a copy of Marked Masters. The post isn’t long, but it was fun to write, and I hope that makes it fun to read too. If you like “story behind the story” reads, grab a cup of tea or coffee and take a break over at Club Hen House. And be sure to leave a comment on the Club Hen House blog so your Read more…

Contest and Giveaway this Weekend!
Please note: This giveaway is over and the winner is posted in the comments section. Thank you! See this terrific bag? I received this bag at the Left Coast Crime registration desk when I arrived at the Phoenix conference yesterday. The Hyatt hotel is amazing, the conference is so much fun, and I love meeting all the other mystery authors and fans, and reconnecting with friends I’ve already met on FB and at other conferences. I’m on a panel Saturday afternoon when I get to talk about writing my books, and I’m really enjoying the information coming from all the authors attending and telling me about their books and favorite mysteries. But while I’m having a great time this weekend, I thought I’d share the fun. Contest and giveaway! Inside this bag–besides the camera and Kindle and stuff of mine that I’m carrying around–are several great mystery title authors here Read more…
Schedule Coming Up — Fun Excerpts and Ongoing Contest
To tie with the release of COUNTERFEIT CONSPIRACIES and MARKED MASTERS, I’ve been doing guest posts and interviews all over the internet. My blog tour host has been fabulous at getting me stops at blogs I’m excited to read myself, so guesting there is double the pleasure. At today’s stop, author Barb Taub “interviewed” my character Laurel Beacham, plus has my favorite book excerpt up from Counterfeit Conspiracies. I had so much fun with this format, and she put the whole thing together in a brilliant fashion. Absolutely love the graphics she added. Please check it out if you have a minute. If you’ve read these books–or even just the description–I think you’ll be wowed by the graphics too. Click here to shoot over to Barb Taub’s blog Writing & Coffee. Especially Coffee. On Friday, Feb 19th, I’ll be posting on the Jungle Red Writers blog, and a little birdie told me there’s a giveaway in the works for Read more…
Been Blogging and Previewing this Week
It was release week for my Bodies of Art Mysteries, so me and my books have been blogging all over the place. My publisher, Henery Press posted a terrific Sneak Peak on their Club Hen House blog last Friday. On the February 2nd release day, there was a release blitz for the series, and on Feb 3rd, I Heart Reading posted the lovely blog tour coming up for the series (yeah, I’m still writing blogs and finishing interviews for the dates near the end of the tour–LOL!). Even more fun on the February 2nd release day, my fun post on how I research the Bodies of Art Books was also on Club Hen House, and I not only get to talk about my methods (and madness–LOL!) but I also get to use my pictures taken as we travel. Hint: the pics at the top of the post, showing the cloudy London panorama, were taken from Read more…
